Reflective Narrative
Throughout the semester in my Writing, Research, & Technology class I have put a lot of effort into the different writing activities I completed. Whether it was working solo on my Twitterive or collaborating with two members of the class on my Research project my writing was always moving forward. My writing throughout the semester has been a process to the end result. On my Twitterive for example, the first draft is much different from the last draft. The first thing I had to do for my Twitterive was come up with a topic that I felt comfortable enough writing about. I then needed a way in which to organize all my crazy ideas about the house into a story that made sense to everyone. I needed the outsiders to understand the flow and message of my story. Some of the adjustments I made in the process of my Twitterive was adding more pictures, changing the arrangement of some things, and changing colors and backgrounds. I added more pictures so that the audience could get a better idea of what each room in the house looked like. I also added many other poems or short stories that relate to a few of the pictures. Some of the poems were self written and others were found in various locations. One thing I would have liked to do is add a picture or two of what the house looked like from the inside about fifteen years ago. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful with getting older pictures from my family members. Seems that no one has any because they simply don't care about that house anymore. I can honestly say that the entire process of my Twitterive lead me to a great final product that I can't wait to share with some of my family members.
My Research Project was done collaboratively with two members from class, Lisa D. & Idalis W. Again, the first step of this group process was coming up with a topic that we could all agree on and thought we would be able to research enough information on. After coming up with an idea we needed to research it a little more and figure out how we could expand on the idea. All three of us looked through many websites and even did personal interviews for this project. We decided that a Weebly would be the best way to present our idea. I do feel that we were right in choosing a Weebly to present our multimodal project. The final ending process of this collaborative piece turned out great!
Although my writing has taken me to greater places this semester, I also believe that technology had a great impact on me as well! This semester I learned many new ways in which to express my feelings with writing in different aspects. I never really was thrilled with the traditional pen and paper for writing. I felt like it took too long and was boring! The way of expressing myself through the Weebly to tell a story was amazing to me! I have even shown the Weebly to some of my friends who are no longer in school. They thought it was very interesting. I also really enjoyed the use of Twitter to track my thoughts and feelings. I had never really thought of using a social website as a personal journal or diary. I like that now only now, but in the future I will be able to look back at what kind of day I was having with those thoughts. It also allows me to track my feelings or thoughts through pictures. Sine I have never been good at drawing, now the pictures don't have to be hand written.
